One small gallery is set to be hosting three larger than life musical acts this weekend

One thing that has been increasing more and more recently is gigs in galleries. I’m all about it.

Don’t get me wrong with institutes like Sofar Sounds it’s not unheard of, but fair play to music promotors in the likes of Swindon - it’s a small town in terms of music venues, so it’s prompting a change in resources.

Saturday July 28 will see one of Swindon’s longest running art institutes, Artsite, turn gig venue for the evening. I’m intrigued - the space itself is modest but versatile, and in this respect perfect for the influx of “audio-insanity” which is about to rain down on it.

Organiser Charlie Miles explained: “5-person Nu-Wave Post-Punk party Damn Teeth are heading to Swindon and setting up in what is usually an art gallery with local melon-twisters, SexJazz for some good ‘ol fashioned audio-insanity.

“Also on the bill is the unfortunately-titled Shit Creek, alledging to bring some temperance to the evening, albeit of the semi-improvised psychedelic variety. Come dance and/or stare in “entranced confusion.”

It’s gonna be a good one! See you there!
