Marlborough world of puppets

On Saturday, 25 July 2020 Marlborough will open up a world of Puppetry.

It’ll start with Phoenix Brass leading a parade through the High Street followed by puppetry performances for all ages at venues throughout the town.

Three years ago, in July 2017, we celebrated our first ever Puppetry Festival to mark the 70th anniversary of when Bob Pelham, in 1947, started his world-renowned Pelham Puppets right here in Marlborough. Our festival was hugely successful leaving visitors and the local community asking for more.

In 2020, we’ll offer memories from where it all began alongside a whole new range of puppetry performances to experience, explore and enjoy.

We are supported by Marlborough Town Council, Marlborough &District Rotary Club, the Merriman Partnership and more and are now looking for both local and national
sponsors to bring it to life.

Our event in 2017 attracted thousands of people and it was a great opportunity for businesses to get involved whilst, at the same time, promoting their own products or services. A funding commitment will bring publicity on our website and social media, banner and programme advertising and free tickets to a performance too.

World of Puppets 2020 would not be possible without an amazing team of volunteers working with us during the weeks leading up to the event.

Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for callouts. If you would like to sponsor, perform or volunteer or are interested in joining us to help

to make it all happen, do contact us via our website at www.worldofpuppets.co.uk
