Take Part – Children: National Ukulele Orchestra of Corsham

Tuesday (term time), 4pm

£4.50 (£6 for child and parent)

Playing the Ukulele is fun, inexpensive and sociable. The Pound want to get Corsham strumming to some killer tunes whether you can already play or are a complete beginner. Join leaders Angelique and Chris and you will soon be hooked.

Take Part – Children: Tiny Artists (0 to 4)

Wednesdays (term time) 1pm-2pm

£3.50 per child including a hot drink for their adult

Come along and help make weekly masterpieces. This easy going and fun sensory art session will see children make keepsakes, explore different materials and make a glorious mess! For children under 4 and their grown ups.

Take Part – Children: Lego Club

Wednesdays (term time) 4pm-5pm

£2 per child

Build your dreams, and bring your imagination to life using our incredible collection of Lego! A popular club in which the possibilities are endless… Come along and give it a try.

Thursdays (term time) 10am-11am

£3.50 per child including a hot drink for their adult

Calling all tiny drama kings and queens! Come and join the team for a fun, informal and high energy session in which little people explore, create and go on weekly adventures using storytelling, props, costumes and a little bit of imagination. For children under 4 and their grown ups.

Second Monday of each month, 10.45am-11.45am

£1 donation per session

Offers fun singing for older people. Come along and join the fun, bring a friend or tell someone who might benefit from this regular social activity.

Join Kara as she guides you through gentle chair-based exercises to improve your fitness and promote mobilisation of your joints. These weekly classes are also a great way to meet new people. Price includes tea and biscuits. Supported by The Jack Lane Charitable Trust.

Simon & Garfunkel: Through the Years

Theatre: Dying to Please You

Modest Genius

A dark comedy inspired by a true story. This mortally funny piece of devised theatre explores the comedy behind death, dying and grief through music, dance and physical theatre. This project is an exploration of the question: can we laugh in the face of death?

Take Part – Adults: Ceramics Throw Down with Libby Ballard

Tuesdays, 6 June– 11 July, 7pm-9pm

£120 for six weeks

Under the expert guidance of artist in residence Libby, take part in your own pottery throw down. The course aims to improve hand building techniques and will include an introduction to using a pottery wheel and glazes. Suitable for beginners and those who have previously attended.

Exhibition on Screen: Michelangelo - Love and Death (Cert 12a)

The spectacular sculptures and paintings of Michelangelo seem familiar to us, but what do we really know about this Renaissance genius? Exhibtion: Ancient Landscapes: New Lines

A collaboration with Salisbury Museum’s exhibition

British Art: Ancient Landscapes

Melissa Cole and Jonathan Mansfield create works by immersing themselves in the Wiltshire landscape surrounding their studios. Alongside Melissa’s steel sculptures and Jonathan’s vibrant paintings we showcase original artefacts from The Salisbury Museum’s Pitt Rivers collection, including finds from his excavation sites.

Free Fridays - Music: Tracey & Jason

Pop-jazz duo Tracey & Jason create a shimmering vibe with voice and electric guitar. Tracey Kelly’s sumptuous vocals join with guitarist Jason Sidwell’s tasty playing in a set of melodic arrangements, mixing originals with the best tunes from jazz, pop and film.

Richard Durrant: Stringhenge

Richard Durrant’s latest musical adventure will feature the Uffington Tenor Guitar, built in Sussex, and a six string Concert Guitar made from 5,000 year old bog oak. Stringhenge is unplugged allowing you to hear and feel the vibrations of the wood in these incredible guitars. It’s real roots music linking the mesolithic to the 21st century.

Lunchtime Recital: Bartosz Glowacki

Polish Young Musician of the year in 2009, Bartosz is one of the leading lights of a new generation of accordionists. He has performed in many prestigious concert halls as a soloist and chamber musician.

Comedy – Edinburgh Festival Previews: Ed Gamble and Ahir Shah

Ed Gamble is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor who has appeared on Mock the Week, Man Down, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Russell Howard’s Good News, as well as presenting radio shows for BBC Radio One and BBC Radio Four.

 

Winner of the 2014 award for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival, Ahir Shah’s sharp, intellectual brand of stand-up features a blend of emotional frankness, poetic language, and jokes.

Comedy – Edinburgh Festival Previews: Matt Forde and Naz Osmanoglu

Matt Forde is one of the country’s most in demand satirists appearing on Unspun, Have I Got News For You, Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report, 8 out of 10 Cats, Question Time, This Week and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Naz Osmanoglu has hit the London comedy circuit running. Already a fringe veteran with acclaimed, irreverent sketch trio WitTank, he is now diverting his angry Anglo-Turkish energy to stand-up as well as sketch comedy.
