Local Company bring Shakespeare magic to the stage

It is that magical time of year once again for Gatecrash Theatre’s annual ‘Yearn and Learn’ production, this year taking on the masterpiece that is Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

You can see this wonderful production at the Swindon Arts Centre from the 27 – 30 July. Directed by 5 Star award-winning Director Anna Friend, this well-loved tale of magic and mischief will be transformed into a Gatecrash classic, bringing their established blend of grit and wonder to the Arts Centre and giving you Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it.

Previous Shakespeare adaptations from Anna Friend have gained significant accolades and won several awards, hailed as “Theatre full of creativity, imagination and skill. Flawless”.

This is the third Gatecrash summer Yearn and Learn production with previous productions including Jerusalem and The Crucible receiving rave reviews such as:

“Professional theatre at its finest from start to finish…. Everything about this production – from its stage set up to the music, and from its actors to its lighting effects – left me feeling proud of this local theatre company. The very dramatic end of the production, which left several people in the audience in tears, left me saying “wow” out loud and wanting to see what else this fine example of Swindon’s talent will offer in the future.” - Kelly Jobanputra, Swindon Advertiser.”

The Saturday Matinee of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be a relaxed, family friendly performance, bringing the magic of Shakespeare to life for kids of all ages. Children are welcome to wriggle and roam as needed.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be at Swindon Arts Centre from Thu 27 – Sun 30 July, with tickets from £12.00.
