Local chef impresses the critics on MasterChef: The Professionals

Cotswold residents can tune in to offer support to Tom Moody, a local chef on Masterchef: The Professionals, whose cooking has secured him a place in the final stages of the competition, currently airing on BBC One.

Tom, sous chef at the luxury Cotswold hotel, The Slaughters Manor House, is appearing on the BBC series to showcase his culinary flair, and impressed the judges in the quarter finals with his delicious halibut main course. He is now down to the final twelve candidates hoping to win the MasterChef trophy and viewers can tune in to follow Tom’s journey as he continues to cook up more mouth-watering dishes to wow the judges, with the semi-finals on air from next Tuesday, December 12, on BBC One. Drawing high praise from the critics he has served, highly acclaimed food critic Jay Rayner commented of Tom’s halibut dish, “It’s one of those dishes that makes you feel better as a human being”. BBC media editor and established restaurant critic Amol Rajan agreed and added: “The basic task at this level of MasterChef is you’ve got to show that can do something a bit special. I think Tom has done that in style. Tom’s success on Masterchef: The Professionals follows another impressive competition performance last year, when he reached the regional finals of the prestigious Roux Scholarship 2016. For those who would like to taste Tom’s cooking for themselves, a festive dining menu is on offer at The Slaughter’s Manor House every day for lunch and dinner until 23 December, or indulge in the eight course tasting menu. Located in the beautiful village of Lower Slaughter, The Slaughters Manor House is part of the Andrew Brownsword Hotels group, which was recently named AA Hotel Group of the Year.
