In the second annual youth theatre showcase Pegasus Youth Theatre explore the question ‘What would you stand up for?’

The groups have been thinking about actions that create hope and make a difference to people’s lives and have used the following quote from Robert F Kennedy as inspiration.

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and, crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

The showcase will be held at Pegasus Theatre in Magdalen Street, Oxford from Thursday July 16 to Saturday July 18 with performances starting at 6.30pm.

For the past 50 years Pegasus has been a theatre with young people at its heart. In everything it does, Pegasus considers how to attract, engage and spark the imaginations of young people. This includes families with young children, schools, teenagers and students. Pegasus Youth Theatre Companies are for experienced participants who are 14 – 19 years. There are three companies, one specialising in Theatre, one in Dance and one in Production/ Technical Theatre. Using the arts as a vehicle over three years the young people in each company are enabled to become global citizens.

The two hour show  is suitable for anyone over the age of five, and costs £9 or £6 for concessions.
