Swindon Shuffle

Wednesday July 15 to Sunday July 19

www.swindonshuffle.org.uk

The Ocelot is proud to be a media partner for Swindon’s best original music festival. We like The Shuffle. Every year it’s like Christmas, if you’re into quality local bands that is.

This year they’ve scaled back a bit but that’s only in preparation for the massive plans behind the scenes for the festival’s tenth anniversary next year.

The venues involved this year are The Victoria, The Beehive, The Castle, Roaring Donkey, The Beehive and Swindon Library. There are also various events throughout the weekend at Baila Coffee & Vinyl.

For those of you who haven’t gone before it is a bloody brilliant long weekend. There’s a real buzz throughout the town as every musician under the Swindon sun pops in to show off their stuff.

And the other thing we like about it is that it’s completely free and it supports charity like a good’un with organisers shaking the collection tin in aid of chosen charity Goldenhar Family Support at every gig.

It’s properly grass roots and for the first time it’s being run in association with Academy of Music and Sound with musicians and technicians using the live music experience to really gain the knowledge they need.

You can check out the ever-changing line-up at the website at www.swindonshuffle.org.uk
