There is nowt as odd as folk.

Well, we beg to differ somewhat as when you’ve got folk as polished and as good as Grubby Jack the last thing you’d describe it as is odd.

The three-piece will be heading to The Rolleston on Commercial Road in Swindon on Saturday June 20 for what promises to be a handbag swinging night of folky goodness.

The Swindon folk band arranges the best and most well loved folk tunes from Ireland, Scotland and America into a foot-stomping live set.

With fiendish banjo and fiddle breaks and the unmistakable folky vocals of J C Leonard, expect an evening of dancing, singing and entertainment the way it used to be.

Formed in late 2013 their line up is Jenny Gleeson on the violin and backing vocals, the aforementioned JC Leonard on the guitar and lead vocals and Levi Saunders on Banjo.

Their aim is to get people up and dancing, stamping their feet and clapping their hands.

So if you fancy some traditional and original folk songs played in a lively uptempo style with a feel of Irish and a dash of the East European then you should definitely pop down to The Rolleston.

The gig is free entry and kicks off at 9pm.
