From Derby to Nashville, to Cricklade: The return of Josh Okeefe

In 2009, Derby, England native and folk-singer Josh Okeefe dropped out of college and traveled across the pond and arrived in Nashville.

Jump forward to 2017, the Nashville-based singer-song writer finds himself in Cricklade’s Old Stables tomorrow.

He has shared the stage with grammy award winners including Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss, to name a couple, and now comes to Ocelotshire supporting Charlie Dore.

Following the trail of his idols, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr, Josh has wasted no time in Nashville by immersing himself in frequented places of these icons.

He became a regular in the rock and roll clubs in East Nashville, TN; met a host of other musicians and began writing songs at an astonishing pace which went on to land him a number of major label cuts.

No Depression said: “Okeefe’s voice hits you with the force of a hurricane: a rare, powerful, gravelly sound, the likes of which is usually crafted from many decades of nicotine, alcohol and hard living in the deep south.”

At 25, he has already made a great career for himself landing major label cuts on Ashley Monroe, High Valley and more.

And now Josh Okeefe returns to his homeland the United Kingdom for a string of dates which include his first-ever theatre performances and main stage festival slots.
