Frank Turner and Xtra Mile Recordings present Summer one-day festival tour

Single day festival ‘The Gathering’, will feature Turner and a whole host of other acts, starting in Bideford, June 19 and finishing in Hull, September 3.

The main headline act will be Frank Turner, with Matt Nasir on select dates. The revolving supporting line up for ‘The Gathering’ festival includes Skinny Lister, Pet Needs, Guise, Berries, Ducking Punches, Non Canon, Samantics and Deux Furieuses. The festival bills vary from venue to venue, so the public are urged to check the line up for their area.

The singer/songwriter said: “At a time when the pandemic has wreaked havoc all across the live music industry, I feel like it’s important to get back to the basics - playing live music to entertain a crowd. This summer, with Xtra Mile and friends, I’m taking the punk approach - do it yourself, find a way. I can’t wait.”

The festival aims to help to kick-start the return of live music across the UK after covid 19 restrictions made it difficult for live events. The shows will see Xtra Mile and Turner organise a set of versatile events that can either be socially distanced or full capacity depending on the maximum safety of the audience, performers and crews and in accordance with any national restrictions in place at the time of the event.

Turner has also released a new single by the same name. It’s described as ‘an upbeat, Glam-esque stomp with lyrics that anticipate our return to normality.’ ‘The Gathering’ featuring Jason Isbell and Muse’s Dom Howard is available for streaming on music platforms now at https://frankturner.lnk.to/TheGatheringPS

The artist said about the track: “it’s about that moment when you come together in a room full of people, and you lean on a stranger and sing along with the chorus and get the words wrong.”
