Explosive dance and percussion at the Corn Exchange

On October 11, international dance sensation, Tap Factory, explodes on to the Corn Exchange stage in Newbury for two performances of their acclaimed dance and percussion extravaganza.

A fun filled show for friends and family groups alike, this tremendously visual, high energy show features some of the world’s best tap dancers and international musicians, as they blend the art of dance, explosive percussion and comedy with cirque acrobatics.

Performed by professional dancers and musicians, Tap Factory uses 4 pairs of tap shoes, 12 oil barrels, 1 stepladder, 4 trash bins, 1 bucket, 1 toolbox, 1 broom, 12 cans, 4 wood mallets and 8 highly talented performers, to tell the story of a group of factory workers as they welcome a new recruit.

Tap Factory was created by choreographer and Artistic Director Vincent Pausanias, who wanted to create a show that would showcase the magic of rhythm at its highest possible technical level.

Using his extensive experience as a director of many different shows, and working with Gilles Guenat, World Champion of Tap (elite category) and Jérémie Champagne, finalist of ‘So You Think You Can Dance, France’, Vincent combined urban percussion, acrobatics, hip hop and comedy within a tap dance framework, placing them in a contemporary urban setting to create an amazing dance spectacular and cirque experience.
