Arts & Culture

The 2015 Wrde Up Music festival will be held at The Rec in Highworth on Saturday July 11, raising funds for the Prospect Hospice with its headline act “Dr and the Medics”.

Fronted by the Rev Dr Clive Jackson, Dr and the Medics, are a psychedelic rock band, who enjoyed their greatest success in the 1980s, with their UK Number 1 song, the remake of Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky”.

Also performing is a Michael Jackson tribute act. Mitchell Joseph Thompson is a superb, incredibly talented and is ultimately the most life-like tribute.  Mitchell has the late King of Pop’s mannerisms down to a tee and is also an incredible dancer bringing the whole package to the stage.

Our local acts included Yves, Tumbling Dice, Overload, Alice Offley with a few more still to be added.

In addition to the music, Wrde Up has something for the whole family.  Danters Funfair will be providing various funfair activities, whilst in the KIDZ TENT there’s a magician, circus skills, face-painting and a musical theatre workshop.
