“Give My Soul” Debut Single Release 28.08.2020

Norly Joy’s upcoming single “Give my Soul” (GMS) will be released this August.

The song consists of lyrics and melodies that touch the subject of a lovelorn relationship; reciting the destruction of her parents’ marriage that impacted her views in love and the importance of holding on to her own relationship.

Give My Soul relives an old open wound that strapped her to a heavily strained relationship with her late father. Unfortunately, with her father’s passing, Norly’s debut single served as a therapeutic release from her unfulfilled wish to mend a broken family.

The song was produced by CTAC (Chris Clarke), who brought her idea to life with his added production hooks, beats, and harmonies. To their credit, GMS embarked her signature nostalgia sound. Furthermore, Norly Joy collaborated with key players (Rag and Bone Man’s guitarist, Richard Hughes and Josh Rigal, bass player from Little Brother Eli) to further enrich this passionate single.

Norly Joy’s debut single also comes with a self-directed music video created in lockdown, which will be available on YouTube soon. GMS will be available for streaming on all platforms from 28th August 2020

Norly Joy is an emerging Neo-pop artist, born in the Philippines and based in North London, whose style conjures visuals of Lana Del Rey and timbre and texture of Mariah Carey and Adele.

With her street upbringing and classic taste in music, her sound is nostalgic - blending a classic ballad sound with futuristic pop.

As a singer-songwriter, Norly Joy explores the topics of love and betrayal which are often inspired by her parents’ failed marriage.

To her belief, the storytelling of the song comes first; seeking lyrical depth while using pop hooks and progressions. Her background in Arts and Animation also allows her to easily take charge of her artistic direction.

Often depicting a retro vibe influenced by her love for video games and comic books. Norly is looking forward to this year.

Her unreleased music has already received a positive response from The SAFO Music Group’s networking and masterclass events. “Give my soul” will come out this fall with a self-directed music video created in lockdown.
