Record of the month

Wiltshire band Dead Royalties have always had a penchant for making big statements with their music and with this new double A side release they really have stepped things up a notch.

It turbo-charges not just the punk meets math-rock meets grunge music that is their hallmark but also their desire to be a band that has something to say.

Released in the aftermath of a contentious election and during a time of human rights tragedies and political turmoil globally it sneers with venom as the band rage about the world around them, giving the release a vitality that has been missing from contemporary music too much recently and harks back to the classic Manic Street Preacher soapboxing days. Fresh, exciting and a little bit dangerous to know.
