Dance event examines human migration

Oxford based Justice in Motion brings Contained, a thought provoking hour of physical theatre to The Story Museum. Delving into the world of migration, the company share a passionate and compelling mixture of drama, dance, music and spoken word.

Using bird migration as an analogy, Justice in Motion challenges how we, as a society respond, creating a fast-moving performance which throws up ideas and questions along the way.

Justice in Motion sees itself as a creative ambassador, advocating social change, raising awareness of injustice, encouraging debate and inspiring action through captivating performances, workshops, talks and engaging dance classes for the community.

This performance, in its current pilot version, forms part of ‘CONTAINED Project’, a trilogy of theatrical performances that combine arts, academics and learning to create dialogues on human migration. It is based on the script PECKING ORDER by Joakim Daun, in collaboration with Marieke van Houte, researcher from Oxford University, and explores public perception, ideas, and beliefs, while challenging our response to crisis.

The performers are Peter Dewhurst, Anja Meinhardt, Judith von Orelli  & Fiona Watson

The event will be held at The Story Museum, Pembroke St, Oxford OX1 1BP
