It has been set up by Chairman of the town’s annual festival, Nigel Wynne, and music business veteran, Seán Devine, with a view to bringing quality, original music to Cricklade.
The Old Stables club is held in an original stable block behind The White Hart Hotel in Cricklade Wiltshire (SN6 6AA). The Stables has bare stone walls and wooden beams as well as original features such as ironwork from its use as a stable.   The venue comfortably seats 50 and will give an intimate musical experience. Highly experienced producer, Marc Ramaer whose credits include K.D.Lang, Skinny Puppy and Barenaked Ladies , has been recruited to perform sound engineer duties so quality can be assured.
The next show is Thursday December 10th. The headline act will be Bloch Eyot, a new musical adventure of musician Nikolaj Bloch. ¬†He is a personal hurricane of Scandinavian roots, English heritage and the subculture of the rivers where he lives.¬†A multi instrumentalist but foremost a singing guitarist with an affection for the musical saw. His compelling melodies and musical touch can be heard on recordings spanning alternative artists to Hollywood movies. He could be a Danish Cat Stevens or Johnny Cash on Valium maybe…
Support comes from Drew Worthley. Drew’s critically acclaimed second album “Crucible” was released in September 2015. He kicks down the door of songwriting with clever lyrics and driving melodies. Drew manages to confidently plough his own musical groove whilst remaining accessible to his audience. But don’t take my word for it, check out these quotes………….
