Cotswold Airport launches its Open Air Cinema Festival

Cotswold Airport has launched a series of open-air and drive-in cinema screenings from May to October 2018.

The picturesque backdrop of aircraft and the beautiful historic aerodrome is one of the most unique cinema venues in the South West.

Films are being screened in pairs over Friday and Saturday evenings so that people can camp if they would like to make a weekend of it, and of course people are welcome to fly in as well as drive. The only exception is Blair Witch, which is being screened as a one-off on Halloween, and will be a drive-in screening given the time of year and the likely drop in temperature. The Blair Witch event is also set to be an unforgettable experience with special effects being laid on to maximise the fright!

People can book luxury beanbag or deckchair seats for prime viewing; and there will be mouth-watering catering in the form of Notorious P.I.G and P.O.D selling the best hog roast in the Cotswolds, hot jacket potatoes with various toppings and gorgeous freshly cooked crepes with all sorts of delicious fillings!  There will also be a well-stocked bar on site serving soft and alcoholic refreshments.

Films are being screened as per the schedule below:

  • Hot Fuzz, and Shaun of the Dead - May 25 to 26
  • Rocky Horror, and Dirty Dancing - June 15 to 16
  • Top Gun & Top Gun - August 24 to 25
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Airplane - 14 to 15 September
  • Blair Witch - October 31
