The Oxford-based charity was set up by Sally and Andrew Hall in memory of their son, Skye, from Abingdon who died in 2014 from side effects of his treatment for medulloblastoma, an aggressive and cancerous brain tumour.

The charity has already funded researcher Gemma Llargues who successfully completed her first year of PhD studies and is now enjoying working in new, well equipped laboratories in the recently opened Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre. Using specially developed models of medulloblastoma, Gemma has investigated the effect of cancer therapies on cells with the most aggressive genetic changes.
Skye’s mum Sally Hall said: “The campaign will continue to run throughout 2017 so there are lots of opportunities for people to get involved and make a real difference to the future of these children who are living with brain tumours.”
