Britain’s Got Talent 2018 winner in Oxford this weekend!

The winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 will be performing a set at the New Theatre Oxford this Saturday.

Lee Ridley AKA Lost Voice Guy can’t talk but isn’t silent. Catch him now before he’s too famous to come to town again. You can catch him at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club in the theatre’s Piano Bar from 10pm.

He is (probably) the first stand-up comedian to use a communication aid. Since making his first stand up performance in February 2012, Ridley has gained quite a reputation for being both very funny and very unique.

He has been described as ‘a wonderful comedian’ by Little Britain’s Matt Lucas and has warmed up for the likes of Ross Noble, Patrick Kielty, Jason Manford and Jason Cook. He also appeared alongside The Boy With Tape On His Face in front of 1,500 people at a charity gig in Edinburgh.

Joining Lee on the bill for Saturday’s night event will be Jonny Pelham, Joe Wells and Tommy Green (MC).

Jonny Pelhambegan comedy at University and while he was there he achieved runner-up in both the coveted So You Think You’re Funny competition and The Chortle Student Comedy Awards. Since graduating, Jonny has continued to impress and was a finalist and judges choice in the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards, as well as being nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer in 2014.

With two critically acclaimed solo shows under his belt, Before and After (2015) and Fool’s Paradise (2016) Jonny has a number of up-coming television projects in the pipe-line, including a presenting debut and bookings to write across a number of television projects.

Joe Wells writing career began when his first book Touch and Go Joe about his experiences of OCD was published, since then he has made a name for himself as a stand-up comic, writer and speaker. Night of the Living Tories was Joe’s debut hour long stand up show, in which he dug up the corpses of the British Conservative Party of the past and put them on display to horrifying consequence. Joe took his follow up show, 10 Thing I Hate About UKIP, to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 and in 2017 took I Hope I Die Before I Start Voting Conservative.

His latest project, Think Tank, is a live show and podcast where comedians put forward ideas to a panel of real life politicians.

Thomas Green is a UK based Australian Stand Up Comedian and actor with an interesting plot twist: he’s a supply teacher in the UK.

Green is known for having a face of elasticity, a unique story-telling style and a highly energetic stage presence. He first ignited his comedy career in 2007 when he entered Triple J’s RAW Comedy Competition. Since, Green has performed in four shows at the Adelaide Fringe, beginning with ‘Village Idiots’ (2008), before going solo with ‘Youthful Annotations’ (2012), ‘Sign of the Times’ (2013), ‘Tomfoolery’ (2014) and ‘It’s Always Greener’ (2015). He saw success in each of his solo shows, having stellar reviews, sold-out crowds and a Fringe Award nominated (Best Emerging Comedy – 2013). He took his show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in both 2014 and 2015, again with sell-out crowds.

Green is not limited to the stage however, having hosted both breakfast and drive radio shows across 7 years on Fresh 92.7 in Adelaide, South Australia. Green has also found himself in front of the camera, having landed roles on screen that have seen him work with the likes of actors David Wenham and Emily Watson (Oranges and Sunshine, 2009), director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek 2, 2013), and with music sensations Hilltop Hoods (2012) when he was cast as the male lead in their music video for hit single ‘Shredding the Balloon’.

All line ups are subject to change, but will only be replaced with someone just as funny!

Doors open at 9.30pm and the show starts at 10pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the New Theatre box office on George Street, by ringing 0844 871 3020or by visiting  www.atgtickets.com/oxford.
