Bristol Old Vic offers artistic scholarships

Bristol Old Vic Ferment are delighted to have teamed up with The Leverhulme Trust to offer four Leverhulme Arts Scholarships running until Feb 2018.

The Scholarships will enable artists to explore their own artistic practice with the support of Ferment. Artists can apply for Art Scholarships of up to £5,000 with opportunities to engage in Ferment activity throughout the year.

This will include support from the Ferment team, encouraging the successful artists to think about their own creative and professional development, sharing work-in-progress during Bristol Old Vic’s scratch festival, Ferment Fortnight, and exploring how this support from Ferment can enable them to experiment and try things out.

Ferment Producer Emma Bettridge said: “Bristol Old Vic Ferment is committed to supporting artists living and making work in the South West, and we understand that sometimes the best way to do this is to support the artists to live. Ferment believes in the importance of time and space around the process of making work. We are driven by the artists who inspire us and we strive to enable them to make the best work they can, through conversation, practical help and advice, dramaturgical support and creative development.”

There are four Art Scholarships available – two will be for recipients that Bristol Ferment invite to submit a proposal, and two will be awarded to artists who apply as part of an open call out.
