The Oxford Playhouse’s 80th anniversary celebrations are well underway.

This year for the first time it is running an online Oxford Playhouse Anniversary Auction from now until October 26. Supported by the Lucy Group Ltd, the 76 lots include many which are experiences not usually available to the public. Lots include:

  • A portrait taken by photographer to the stars, Andrew Ogilvy.
  • A 4 metre tall Donald Trump puppet, star of last year’s pantomime.
  • A portrait painted by Lucy Stopford, who has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.
  • A day at Pinewood Studios with film producer Victor Glynn.
  • A Private Tour of Harwell Science and Technology Campus.
  • A Private Tour of Oxford Botanic Gardens.
  • Carter Jonas selling a house or flat commission free.
  • Box seats at the Royal Opera House.
  • Dining, holiday, tennis, behind the scenes experiences and much more.

The auction is part of Oxford Playhouse’s anniversary fundraising with the bold ambition of raising an additional £120,000 this year. This money will help sustain the future of the creative industries more widely, supporting emerging artists through its artist development programme Evolve, including an annual Made in Oxford showcase of local talent from 2019. Monies raised will also helpthe Playhouse’s participation team to increase the number of local young people the theatre works with to 30,000 a year across the whole county.
