An immersive, promenade, puppetry performance for all the family to enjoy at Salisbury Arts Centre

A Christmas Carol is coming to Salisbury Arts Centre December 19 to December 23 to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Salisbury Arts Centre has teamed up with the award winning puppetry and visual theatre company Smoking Apples to bring the audiences a classic tale as they have never seen it before.

Come face to face with the magical spirits, Bob Cratchett and Tiny Tim as you experience this enchanting setting of the Arts Centre transformed into the past, present and future of Mr Scrooge. Join him as he travels through time to learn the true meaning of Christmas and share in the festive joy of this timeless tale. A perfect opportunity to dive into the heart of a Dickens Christmas with Smoking Apples’ unique and heart warming style of storytelling, puppetry and visual theatre.

Smoking Apples is high quality theatre, that more often than not, works with difficult, hard-to-digest subject matter. Using puppetry and visual theatre, the company create innovative shows, making their subjects enjoyable and accessible for audiences. They combine puppets, live actors and an identifiable and unique style of movement.

Molly Freeman, Smoking Apples’ Co-Artistic Director said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Salisbury Arts Centre on A Christmas Carol and can’t wait to bring our unique style of puppetry and visual theatre to the city.

“Christmas is a magical time and we all have such fond memories of going to see shows with our families, so we’re hoping people will make us part of their Christmas tradition with us this year. The show is going to let people see the Arts Centre in a totally new light, as it’s a promenade piece that takes people around the building. Its also not like any version of A Christmas Carol you’ve seen before!”
