Amazing lineup for Barnstormers Comedy at Salisbury Arts Centre

Ending the month with a healthy dose of laughter, Barnstormers brings you three great comedians from the London comedy circuit introduced by a guest compere.

On November 24 they will be: the stylish and confident Paul Kerensa, the uniquely entertaining Javier Jarquin, and the hilariously oddball Tony Law.

After appearing on television and playing and headlining some of the biggest clubs in Australia and New Zealand Javier Jarquin moved to the UK in 2010 where he has established himself as a circuit regular and headline act around the country and in mainland Europe. Winner of The Press Critics Choice Award for Best National Artist World Buskers Festival 2012 and of the Best Show Wellington Award at The New Zealand International Comedy Festival 2010.

Tony Law is a Canadian stand-up comedian. Originally from Lacombe, Alberta, he has been based in London, United Kingdom since the age of 19. He lives in Islington with his family. You might recognise Tony from TV appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You, and Russell Howard’s Good News. He is known for his highly surreal material and delivery, and eclectic historical style of dress, favouring boots with turned-up jeans and a Viking/explorer style of hair. Many of his stand-up routines are ad-lib and built around various subjects that he has thought of, but not planned a routine about. His routines are often built around fictional and surreal situations.

Winner of the BBC Radio Entertainment Contract Writer Bursary, Paul Kerensa (pictured right) continues to write and script-edit for many TV comedies. His writing won a British Comedy Award for BBC’s Miranda, as well as a Royal Television Society Award and the Rose d’Or award for Lee Mack’s sitcom Not Going Out, for which Paul has written on over 60 episodes over the past decade.

Paul worked closely with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc on the revamped Top Gear for BBC2, as well as on Channel 4’s revival of the cult show TFI Friday. Paul’s books include So a Comedian Walks Into a Church, which The Independent rated one of their top eight books for Christmas that year, plus 2017’s Hark! The Biography of Christmas. His first children’s books will be released in 2018. Paul won the ITV Take the Mike Award and regularly gigs all over the UK as a stand-up. He also broadcasts regularly on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show Pause For Thought slot.

Barnstormers Comedy takes place at Salisbury Arts Centre on Friday 24 November at 8.30pm.
