A Tribute to Ben E King and the Drifters coming to the Wyvern

Next week at the Wyvern Theatre, there is to be a tribute show to the legendary Rock Band, Ben E King and the Drifters.

The group were pioneers of early Rock n Roll, and forerunners to the Black Music Movement in 1950s America and early Motown. They are one of the biggest selling, longest lasting bands of all time. They have sold over 114 million albums worldwide, 214 million singles, and were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

The show on 14 July, promises to be a unique tribute to the iconic group,  telling their musical history, and anecdotes of the former members, and introducing some of the original recording artists from the classic album, Stand by Me. It will also feature over 50 of their biggest hits, including: Under the Bordwalk, Save the Last Dance for Me, Saturday Night at the Movies, and many more.
