A mesmerising collaboration: celebrating cultural bonds and women in dance

Swindon Dance will be hosting an extraordinary triple bill of contemporary dance, by India and the UK’s most up and coming female choreographers.

This majestic collaboration will be taking place October 6.

Outlands is a vivacious and gripping triple bill of contemporary dance that showcases and celebrates up and coming female choreographers commissioned as part of 2Faced Dance Company’s The Bench India and UK programme.

This unique one-off programme of work features Hemabharathy Palani, Roonita Mookerji and a guest choreographer from the UK.

These extraordinary female choreographers present an intimate evening of work to mark the deep cultural ties between India and the UK as part of UK-India Year of Culture 2017.

The BENCH is a training programme for female choreographers developed in response to concerns about the lack of equality within the dance sector.

In 2016 2Faced Dance Company launched Year two of The Bench UK and Year one of The Bench India. The works presented in Outlands has been commissioned by The Bench.

Outlands is supported by Arts Council England, British Council and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
