Young musicians get second chance to Take The Stage as competition returns this week

Musicians under the age of 21 get the chance to Take The Stage this week as the popular competition returns to the Neeld Community and Arts Centre in Chippenham.

The first heat of Take The Stage 2 will be this Thursday October 27 featuring Misfires, Pilot and The Unannounced and will be judged by the audience and a panel of the area’s musical community experts. And our reporter Mike Barham too.

Organised by Riverbank Studios in collaboration with the team at the Neeld, Take The Stage is similar to a battle of the bands in that groups compete for prizes ranging from studio time to local festival slots and even a few mentions in our humble magazine!

Earlier in the year, Take The Stage winners Socket walked away with a week of recording time, a slot at Fieldview Festival and ChippFest as well as a swathe of new fans from the highly popular live shows that made up the competition.

The heats during the last Take The Stage were extremely well attended, regularly pulling in the South West’s live music fans hundreds at a time for each event, and the competition this time is bound to grow even more fierce.

If you think your music has what it takes to take on the best in the area, get in touch with Riverbank Studios via their wesbite: www.riverbankchippenham.co.uk/takethestage
