It was halfway through a bleary drunken Saturday afternoon at The Swindon Shuffle in The Rolleston that The Labradors launched themselves onto the scene.
And like a meteor crash landing into the middle of Commercial Road on a sunny Saturday they had quite an impact.
This was their debut gig and was in fact drummer Sam's first ever live performance.
David Lynch, the lead singer, is quite a charismatic showman and, whilst waiting for a last-minute and ill-timed toilet break from the aforementioned Sam, managed to entertain the crowd by serenading a toddler.
Once they eventually got underway, they started playing with a professionalism and tightness that belied the fact that this was their first ever gig.
Okay, there was a bit of rawness around the edges but this was loud guitar rock that shook you to your core. All heavy, drum-led beats that made you want to pump your fist.
I liked them a lot. So did the crowd. I reckon we'll be hearing a lot more of The Labradors in the coming months.
Bring on The Labradors!
