Blissfields Festival, Hampshire’s award-winning and longest running boutique festival, which has a ‘Game For It’ theme this year, takes place from Friday June 29 to Sunday July 1 at Vicarage Farm near Winchester.
Having already confirmed The Noisettes, Patrick Wolf (playing a very special grand piano acoustic performance), Guillemots, Toddla T, and a wealth of acclaimed emerging talent, including Spector, Clock Opera, Theme Park, Toy, and Charli XCX, Blissfields has now announced the next wave of acts to join it’s 2012 bill: Bastille, King Charles, Emily and the Woods, Tropics, Me, Jake Bugg, Torches, Marcus Aureliusness, K1r3y with Road To Blissfields winners Bigtopp and Kamikaze Test Pilots, joining the event in it’s 12th year.
The festival has been applauded over the past 11 years for its attention to detail, creativity, family friendly atmosphere and wide-ranging musical and arts bill, but above all, for remaining at an intimate 2,000 capacity, following years of critical praise, stellar live performances from some of the country’s biggest live music acts, and sell-out crowds. Add to this a great comedy line-up plus loads of other stuff and you’ve really got a packed weekend.
In 2012, Blissfields nod their school cap to the world of sport with their ‘Game for it’ theme, offering a dandy revival of the Great British Summertime and a golden age of playground camaraderie and frivolity. With a full program of sports day shenanigans, a school disco and late night ballyhoo. For info and tickets blissfields.co.uk
