The big event down on Cowley Road this month is Oxford Gathering which takes place on Saturday October 20.

The new multi-venue all day festival has attracted some big names including folkies of the moment Dry The River (pictured). They’re like Mumford and Sons if Mumford and Sons had tattoos and a bit more depth. So they’re like Mumford and Sons’ rebellious younger cousins.

Also confirmed are Spector (who Gig Monkey has a chat with elsewhere in the mag), Jake Bugg, Bastille, Peace, Lewis Watson, Nina Nesbitt, and Hey Sholay plus many, many more.

Gathering will be performing across several of Oxford's venues; East Oxford Community Centre, Cowley Road Methodist Church, O2 Academy, The Bullingdon and Port Mahon. Tickets are available at £15 advance from http://www.gatheringfestival.co.uk
